Welcome! I’m glad you found yourself here with me. My name is Karolyn Wong and I am a holistic life coach + somatic healing guide

for Asian + Pacific Islander Women

and LGBTQ People!

Below I share my story of how I finally began to thrive when I allowed myself to fully heal and accept myself and my journey wholly.

Feel free to explore my journey of healing by clicking through the images

(Trigger warning: Descriptions of experiences with PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder)

You still here? Here’s a short bio in case anyone’s lookin’:

My name is Karolyn Wong, or Wong Yuk Leen, “Jade Lotus.”

I am a holistic life coach + somatic healing guide

for Asian and Pacific Islander Women and LGBTQ People

to come back home within to the safety of your own bodies,

honor your true selves, needs, and desires,

so that you can live most authentically and confidently as yourself

to create a life you truly love and deserve!"

I consider myself to be a 1.5 generation queer gender nonconforming Chinese American womxn of color born and raised in Oakland, CA, with recent ancestral roots in the Southern Guangdong province of China.

Hoi Ping and Toi San represent! :D

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley because I wanted to understand how systems and culture impact family experiences and inherited trauma.

I went on a winding path from studying Psychology to Sociology in the western frameworks and now coming back home full circle

to what I always knew as a kid:

I wanted to be a “therapist” or as I wrote in my mother’s day letter

“I want to be like my mom one day because

it’s always good to be an encourager.”

I came back to the medicine of my ancestors within which is that I am inherently loved, supported, and guided unconditionally, and that

I already had everything I needed to be a powerful manifestor and guide for my community! and now

I support Asian and Pacific Islander Women + LGBTQ People to live your most authentic lives grounded in the wisdom of your ancestors within to remember that YOU ARE A POWERFUL MANIFESTOR too!

Much of my career was spent in nonprofits and social justice organizing, before being called to tap into my abilities as a healer and facilitator of shared healing, transformation,

and liberation in our communities.

By following my passions for social justice organizing and healing work, I completed a yearlong fellowship through the East Bay Meditation Center's Practice in Transformative Action, a program aimed at training leaders to facilitate mindfulness meditation practices in their social justice activism and social change work.

I have completed facilitator trainings with New York City's Theater of The Oppressed Lab and the Berkeley Repertory Theater, facilitating theater workshops with over 400 women in India and the Bay Area.

I helped to organize and perform in the Asian Pacific American Vagina Monologues at the Castro Theater with the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum,

Previously completed a filmmaker training through Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project in the SF Bay Area about my experiences with anxiety and intergenerational trauma,

Created and performed a solo performance, through W. Kamau Bell’s and Martha Rynberg’s Solo Performance Workshop,

about intergenerational trauma in my family

and how I didn’t want to end up

like my mom in all the “bad ways,” but through humor show how

that inner Chinese mom they implant inside you is hard to shake! ;P

I am passionate about helping to create platforms for our shared healing, transformation, and liberation as Asian and Pacific Islander Women & LGBTQ People

through intentionally choosing healing

to transmute intergenerational trauma,

into reconnection to the love, truth, and wisdom

and practices of our ancestors.

With the loving support of my community,

I have co-created API Womxn Heal x Support x Thrive because

I believe in the power of our collective resilience when

we heal, are supported, and thrive together

as Asian and Pacific Islander womxn!
